Ekurhuleni’s Got Talent is back and the residents of Ekurhuleni are asked to join in on the fun. The show had a successful running in 2017, so it was only befitting to have another one.
Ekurhuleni is known as the industrial hub and has played a big part in the economy of South Africa. The aim of having a show with such a magnitude is the fact that, not only will it form part of entertainment, but also help with nurturing young talent, getting children off the streets in order to prevent and curb drug abuse and to put youth from Ekurhuleni on the map.
‘’The theme, aim and concept of the show is to inspire, educate and promote local talent while helping aid the local economy. We want to target the Kathorus townships and surrounding towns so we are hoping participants will come out in numbers.’’ mentions Paul Radebe – Marketing Manager.
The format of the show will have a panel of judges who have vast experience in the entertainment industry, including radio and television so decisions made will be objective and fair.
The first round of auditions took place in October, and they will be ongoing until the 24th of November, where the champion will be crowned at the Dawn Park Shopping Centre. Participants can still register for auditions online on the Ekurhuleni’s Got Talent website, www.egt1.co.za. The prizes will include a cash prize of R10, 000 for the ultimate winner and R2, 500 for the runner up.
Participants who would like to try out for the auditions can visit the website on www.egt1.co.za and visit the Ekurhuleni’s Got Talent Facebook page www.facebook.com/ekurhulenisgottalent for more information.
