ibtm AFRICA is set to become an even more important part of Africa Travel Week at WTM Africa 2021 as the industry grapples with a future dictated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
ibtm AFRICA is the leading conference for the meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) industry and aims to inspire the business events world to deliver exceptional experiences for their customers. The 2021 event will see MICE exhibitors become part of the main show floor and the introduction of a dedicated corporate buyer programme. The popular dedicated ibtm AFRICA conference programme will continue to tackle topics including professionalism, accountability, sustainability and transformation in the industry, within the context of addressing the devastating effects of COVID-19 and charting a new course for the industry in that context.
Megan Oberholzer, Portfolio Director for Africa Travel Week, says that the tremendous feedback about the 2019 event prompted the expansion of the ibtm AFRICA programme for #WTMA21. “The MICE industry is very much in need of a dedicated space for dialogue to help rebuild,” she says. “By enhancing the ibtm AFRICA programme at #WTMA21, we hope to help the African industry evolve and grow with even more expert insights from major role players – and plenty of space for input from every attendee”.
Participation in ibtm AFRICA is free of charge, with registration via https://africa.wtm.com/events/IBTM/. A WTM Africa Travel Professional Badge gives attendees access to the conference, and also to all 3 days of WTM Africa, which runs 7-9 April 2021 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
Africa Travel Week comprises World Travel Market Africa (WTMA); International Luxury Travel Market Africa (ILTMA); EQUAL Africa; ibtm AFRICA; Travel Forward and the African Travel and Tourism Industry Awards.
