FIVE VICTIMS OF A FATAL CRASH POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED

POLOKWANE: The five(05) deceased of a fatal crash that occurred early, 09th February 2020 at about 04:50 in the Nebo Policing area outside Groblersdal, have been positively identified.

The deceased were identified as follows:
* Katlego Mosotho aged 22 (male), from Middelburg in the Mpumalanga Province.         
* Lebo Molongwane aged 22 (male) from Ga-Matlala outside Polokwane.                   
* Bongani Moyo aged 34 (male) from Makgofe outside Polokwane.              
* Elija Sejeng aged 27 (male) from Tembisa in the Gauteng Province.                    
* Silvia Mokiri aged 27 (female) from Ga Phaahla in the Sekhukhune area. 

It is alleged that a Toyota bakkie carrying eight occupants traveling from Groblersdal to Jane Furse, collided with a stationary truck at Glen Cowie Village just opposite St. Rita's hospital. Five (05) people from the bakkie died instantly whereas, two other people were seriously injured. The driver suffered minor injuries.

The only passenger from the truck escaped the accident unharmed.

The Preliminary police investigations revealed that when the incident occurred, the driver of the truck had gone to look for help after a mechanical breakdown.

The Police have opened a case of culpable homicide and the circumstances leading to the accident are still unknown at this stage but the Police investigations are continuing.
